My dearest Uncle,
You were like a big brother to me at times with only 5 yr between us. We spent so much time together as kids – laughing, joking, having fun and getting into mischief. You believed in sports, a soccer ref, keeping active and busy, military service, driver, trucker but most of all you were all about family. Son, brother, Uncle, step dad, partner, friend, companion, constant. You always were there. You would always answer, always being there for those around you. Your sarcasm and witty jokes will be missed. Truly there for family.
I wanted to see you one last time, but she turned me away. I wanted to send you flowers but she turned me away. She blocked us from being there at the end. She dismissed us, but she doesn’t win. I hold you close and you know that I tried. Know how much I love you and what you will always mean to me and the family. We will celebrate you, each of us in our own way. Til we meet again xoxo
Your Spirit By Tram-Tiara T. Von Reichenbach
I know that no matter what
You will always be with me.
When life separates us
I’ll know it is only your soul
Saying goodbye to your body
But your spirit will be with me always.
When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch
I will know it is you singing to me.
When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely
I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain.
When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention
I will know it is you reminding me
To appreciate the simple things in life.
When the sun shining through my window awakens me
I will feel the warmth of your love.
When I hear the rain pitter patter against my window sill
I will hear your words of wisdom
And will remember what you taught me so well’
That without rain trees cannot grow
Without rain flowers cannot bloom
Without life’s challenges I cannot grow strong.
When I look out to the sea.
