Time to Pause

Rushing here, rushing there, when does it stop? When do you take a moment to enjoy this season of Christmas? When do you pause? Take a breath and enjoy?

Christmas advertising begins far to early as far as I’m concerned. By that I mean before November 11th is too early. Even if it means starting to advertise after the American Thanksgiving or ,wait for it, December 1st. We are bombarded with the message of spend spend spend, buy buy buy when it should be all about LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Christmas will come whether you are ready or not. Baking or no baking, gifts or no gifts. Dr. Seuss said it best “It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags“.

Christmas is not about stuff. Christmas is a feeling, a connection, a reminder of a glorious birth that took place. From St. Luke, ” and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” Yes there were trumpets and angels, shepherds and Kings to welcome this wee child. It is through Him we live on,  have love unconditionally and are blessed.

One of my all time favourite Christmas songs – Mary Did You Know

I am thankful for all that I have  spiritually and  earthly. I am thankful to be living in a country where I can have my faith, openly and not be afraid of being a Christian. I am thankful that I am a child of God and I will pause to reflect and give thanks. I pray for you and yours, Christian or non, that your heart will be filled with the love that Christmas provides, that you will reflect on the good in your life and world. I hope you will share that warmth in your heart, to pass along to someone who may not feel that warmth. A smile, a nod, a donation, anything that YOU can spare to share. Pause and reflect……

May 2016 be a fresh new year in which you smile a little more and pause……..

Peace & blessings to you and yours

Amazing
